Blistering vinyl flooring

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Floor looked great for a few months. Then blisters started to appear. Complained to Menards and filled out their form which was sent by them to Tarkett. Tarkett sent their inspector, who stated the fault was ours and the problem was 'site specific'. Neither Tarkett nor Menards will help us fix this problem. Had a visit by the installer, who injected glue and rolled out the blisters. One blister was so extensive and stretched that there was no room for the blister to lay flat. A few days later the blisters were back in full bloom. We are left holding the bag. If there is a class action suit for this issue I want to be signed up as a co-plaintiff.

Tarkett - This is the letter I wrote to Tarket. They responded with IT WAS INSTALLATION... - Image 2

I started with 30 boxes of the Tarkett coco berry flooring. I was to be covering approximately 500 square foot, upon opening I noticed a lot of chips in the boxes, at the start of the job we found that the angle for the angle tap system was not working correctly, it had to be knocked in with the block, we found sometimes a piece would not fit so we would try three four or five pieces and finally find one that fit, we found ourselves forcing together the entire floor, by doing this we were damaging a lot of pieces and chipping a lot of the face, most of the face of the flooring is not flush with the next piece, a lot of edges sticking up, While fighting with the floor we tried many different approaches we thought maybe it was all the chips in the edges of the pieces so we started making sure we cleaned all that out, this made no difference, we found the only way to get the floor together was to force it, after completing about two-thirds of the floor I realized we wasted a lot of flooring by damaging it, I had someone run to Menards and get four more boxes, when they returned I started mixing in these pieces as the lot numbers were different this is when I found the problem with the flooring, Upon using these new pieces they went together very easy, so I installed all four boxes of this new flooring and it went good, it was like night and day from the bad flooring to the good flooring, all four boxes of the new flooring went together beautiful and are flat and level with each other, I was comparing the flooring with each other and the new flooring was so much cleaner cut than the original flooring, the new flooring also had a different cut to it (see pictures ) all my rooms are Square, I had all the same measurements at the end of the room, I was using all the right tools the block and the pull bar I feel we did everything right, this was not my first time laying a laminate floor, it was the original 30 boxes that were the problem the original purchase had two lot numbers (enclosed). I feel the problem is with the cut of the original flooring, it was a rougher cut and a different cut even the tongue on the tongue and grove system looked smaller with a ragged cut.

Get out the sledge hammer

I have installed this exact Tarkett and and tap flooring about 8 years ago in my own home. It was decent to install. Putting in the exact same flooring for a customer and I can't win with this stuff. Tap it soft or hard...it won't go together on the long sides. You have to beat the *** out of it for it to budge and the faces often do not match. It's almost as if they are different thicknesses. Even after taking time to scribe the first course there are gaps in the following courses. I have tried pretty much everything besides lighting it on fire which I would like to do. Don't buy this ***. It's a joke.

Terrible Product

Tarkett - Terrible Product
Tarkett - Terrible Product - Image 2

This is the second vinyl tile we've put in our home, and I regret it every moment I look at my floors. Instead of the awesome, super durable product we used the first time, I picked this for the style it offered (black and white tile).

We used Tarkett Permastone, and it is like living on butter floors -- it's worse than hardwoods for scratches! I find new scratches every day on both the white and black tiles, and we've had the product about six months. The edges are also chipping off in several spots. We have to vacuum the floors every day, mop all the time, and we have felt pads on the bottom of all our furniture, but all to no avail.

Despite spending an extra grand on these floors, we only received 20% of our total cost via a warranty that they denied. They said it was "just as durable as every other vinyl product out there". That's an utter lie.

Never, ever buy Tarkett floors. Worst product on the market!!!

Tarkett - Vinyl Flooring Review

Vinyl sheet flooring, International Carmen. Been down a week and no problems after a retrim round some edges because of buckling overnight after it was laid. Appears tough as old boots. We've had builders and joiners tramping over it, dog skating like on an icerink, wiped paint and varnish off it and dragged really heavy furniture over it...still looks good. Only time will tell but I was extremely worried after reading reviews on this site so felt obliged to add my initial impression.

The grout between our tiles pulled away from the tile. Apparently this is a problem that happens quite often.

The *** would not lock together

Several years ago we installed Tarkett laminated flooring and everything locked into place without a lot of effort. We purchased Tarkett flooring for a living room this month, went to install the *** and found we needed large rubber mallets to beat the *** out of it to get pieces to lock together.

This is the worst product I have ever installed. If you're looking for a workout and like to swear a lot, buy this product. Bought this *** at one of the big discount lumber yards but don't expect their sales people to have any idea what they're selling.

I will be going there today to let them know what kind of junk they're selling and they'll just look at me and nod like they understand and forget about it as soon as I leave. I only wish I would have read reviews about this product before I bought this ***.

We have put this flooring down in three rooms no problems. But we went back and got more for one more room and this is a piece of ***.

Rubber hammer rubber piece you use to put together the works this is falling apart so now it won't snap together talked to Menards where I got it they can't return it cause they are opened well we can't use them to WONT GO TOGETHER.

Them must of gotten wet or something to fall apart this easy. I want my money back and reimburse for my time.

We were really looking forward to laying this down and our kids bedrooms. We did everything correctly yet the pieces were breaking up so not locking correctly and wear unevenly cut so it not snap together properly. We return this product and got a different product from mohawk and had zero issues whatsoever. We are not happy with this product tarkett.

Tarkett Transcend BAD QUALITY

Tarkett Transcend BAD QUALITY - Image 3

The product I bought was the Tarkett Transcend AC622 Acacia Tamarin. Wow in the store looks great and very nice.

Don’t be fooled it is the worst piece of material. I follow the instructions and then some. Prepared the surface, left the material in the same room for two weeks. Open halve of the boxes so it would be expose to the air in the room.

Started to install it, not bad. Did 7 rows of planks on a Friday on Monday morning where the tong is it look horrible and some of the groove areas had come undone. I went in and re did it just thinking maybe was my fault. No two hours later same thing.

Read the box material from China.

At the end I pull the whole thing out. Returning it.
